Yes.

The only time that I can think of that there would be a break in an artery's endothelium is when a bit gets damaged, like with turbulent (disorganised) blood flow over an atheromatous (fatty) plaque that forms in the intima of the artery wall (there are many layers to an artery wall, the intima is one of them). Also, when a person gets a stent put in an artery to open up a narrowed bit (like when you have unstable angina) these stents can be "drug eluting" stents that stop the endothelium of the vessel from growing over the stent.

Essentially, everything in the body that has a connection to the outside world (your skin, eyes, digestive tract, respiratory tract, urinary tract and reproductive tract) is lined with an epithelium. Everything inside the body that is hollow (blood vessels, lymph vessels, the heart's chambers, the ventricles in the brain) as well as the surface of most organs are lined with endothelium.

What are the layers that make up the wall of an artery?

Arteries actually have 5 layers, it is the veins that have 3. Arteries have: -the Outer coat -Elastic layer -Middle coat (thin) -Another elastic layer -Endothelium

Can veins and arteries stretch the same distance as the world?

In an average person, all the blood vessels, veins, arteries, and capillaries lined up one to the other can go around the world at least twice.

What are the layers of the arter ies and veins?

Upper layer of arteries is made up connective tissues, middle layer of elastic tissues and inner layer of endothelium vein have the same composition but it is relatively less elastic then the arteries.

How does tobacco use weaken blood vesseles?

Tobacco contains hundreds of compounds most of which are harmful. One of the main studied effects off tobacco smoking on arteries is that, once it is inhaled and enters the blood through the lungs, it disrupts the function of the lining of the arteries which is called the 'endothelium'. The endothelium has an important function in keeping the artery healthy. The disruptive effect of the smoke makes the artery more prone to developnig atherosclerosis - that is a furring of the arteries that eventually results in blockages causing heart attacks and strokes.

What is the rough wall of the atrial wall called?

The atrial walls inside the heart are made of endothelium and are called endocardium. They are made of the same tissue as the insides of veins and arteries.
