Yes, because Democrats are more tolerant of differences and the protection of civil liberties, including the liberty to choose your religion or no religion. Anybody can join the Democratic Party and people who are persecuted for their differences are more likely to become a member of the party that welcomes them rather than the party of their tormentors.
However, this is not to say that there are no atheists in the Republican Party. The focus of the Republican Party is on individual financial liberty and this could appeal to atheists who are financially successful in life.

Both democrats and republicans agree that burning the American flag is very disrespectful.
I did a bit of research but i couldn't get any results. But it is true that a more teachers ARE Democrats and not Republican this most likely due to Democrats spending more on Education than their Republican counterparts. At my school for this mock election Obama had 80% McCain had 20%
Historically the republicans have spent more when in office than the democrats.
The demonrats obviously- theyโre a bunch of crony crooks!
Atheists have a lower divorce rate than theists. Atheists are less likely to divorce.
Democrats
There's no way to tell. Atheists in the USA are more reluctant to say so than in most of the rest of the West, because in some parts of the USA it is a stigma. You can get a minimum number by using polls, but the real number would be higher. Gallup have done some surveys on this. For example: http://www.gallup.com/poll/108226/Republicans-Democrats-Differ-Creationism.aspx shows that Republicans are more likely to believe in young-earth creationism - 60% of them. Whereas only 38% of Democrats shared that view. Also according to the poll, Republicans are also more likely to attend church. 3 candidates in the 2008 Presidential Republican Primaries stated that they were creationists: http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/06/05/debate.evolution/index.html
Democrats
There are more conservative Democrats in the Southern states. Conservative Democrats, have more in common with Republicans than Liberal Democrats. The state with the most conservative Democrats is the state of Tennessee.

Atheists are people who do not believe in religion. The atheists were the most calm and rational people involved in the debate.Studies find that atheists are generally happier and more successful than those who follow Christianity.
Democrats.
The Republican/Conservative party would be more likely to support a strong military. Democrats have different views, many believe that war isn't the right way to settle differences.
There are no published stats on record to answer this question. In a way it ignores the big issue of atheism. The real issue is, how many atheists experience life past death at any age. Atheists cheerfully say 'None'. Though is is hard to prove. Atheists live, of course, for a very similar timespan to other people, thus the proprtion who live to such an age shall be similar to people of other beliefs. I suspect, having said this, that there would be some correlation between atheism and longevity, as atheists tend to some from richer, better educated backgrounds, and thus are more likely to live healthy lifestyles wqith better healthcare. However, this effect is probably not huge. I would be interested to see a study into the matter. == I, too, would be fascinated by a study. All the studies I have seen indicate that the more educated a person is, the more likely they are to be atheist. Since the wealthier sections of society tend to be more educated (because education costs money), it is reasonable to infer that atheists are likely to live longer. This would not be because they are atheist, but would have the same root cause as their education: they are more likely to have come from a wealthy background, and have a higher standard of living, and better access to healthcare.
