This is a risk vs benefit.....

As with most medical testing there are some risks involved. CT scans expose the body to radiation. This is weighed against the information gained by doing the test. There is also a risk if you have to take anything into your body to do the test. (drinking or injection) These risks are usually minimal with modern dyes and oral prep that is used now. If concerned ask your doctor about the risks involved for the test you are getting.

The benefit of the information gained from the test is usually much greater than the small risks of getting the test done.
