FengShui refers to energy flow and us usually used when referring to a dwelling, room, restaurant, any place people gather. It is known that where furniture is arrange in relation to door, windows or other furniture, energy flows and effects how you feel. Think of it as the warm cozy feeling you get when you walk into a room versus a cold, uncomfortable feeling you get. Hope that helps.
A great book to read for feng shui beginners is Karen Rauch Carter's Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life. Karen explains feng shui in simple ways for people to understand and apply at home. It's been my fave feng shui book for years!
Red is a very lucky color.
Feng Shui is not a religion, but rather a belief that arranging furniture and such a certain way can effect your outlook on life in a positive way.You can feng shui your whole house, just one room, or even just your desk!Whatever you are feng shui-ing is divided into 9 square sections according to where the front (entrance) is, or where the top of the desk is. The 9 sections are: "Prosperity & Wealth", "Fame & Reputation", "Relationships & Love", "Family", "Health", "Creativity & Children", "Skills & Knowledge", "Career", "Helpful People & Travel".Each of these 9 sections has specified colors, numbers, shapes, materials, and body parts that are most effective. They also have colors, numbers, etc. that do NOT belong in that area for positive results. There is so much more to understanding feng shui, so maybe check out a book on the topic because there are many helpful ones! I suggest one called Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life by Karen Rauch Carter
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that involves arranging the environment to promote harmony and balance in life. It is based on the belief that the arrangement of space can affect the flow of energy, or "qi," influencing well-being, health, and prosperity. Practitioners use various principles, such as the placement of furniture, colors, and natural elements, to create environments that enhance positive energy and minimize negative influences. Overall, Feng Shui aims to create spaces that support the physical and emotional needs of individuals.

I wish to give you my point of view as an expert in classical Feng Shui. First of all there are many schools of Feng Shui, and therefore some rules are specific to some of them. A "missing corner" of a building can be seen as bad in the Ba Zhai school, and auspicious in the San Yuan school for example. However some common architecture rules from a traditional Feng Shui are as follow: -the best house shape is the square, followed by the rectangle. The same goes for the entire premises. -the door and windows should be in proportion of the house -the left side of the building (inside looking outside) should have be slightly more elevated than the house itself; it is called the dragon side -the right side also has to be slightly higher than the building, but lower than the dragon side. It is called the Tiger side. -the back of the building, referred as the turtle, should be strong and protecting, and distant enough not to overlook the premises -the front should have a small elevation that protects the house, it is called the phoenix -the centre of a house should be empty to let the Qi circulates properly. Heating or pond in the center are a big no-no -the kitchen is best not located on the tiger side, and best voided from direct view, to protect the wealth -kitchen and bathroom should not be located in direction that trigger a fire and water clash Those are only a few on the important rules to be respected, and each house has to be tailored for its occupants.

Real classical Feng Shui is not about artefacts or commercial items. Feng Shui work through connecting yourself with the right energy. It has to be determined though your native chart (BaZi). Therefore the way to "Feng Shui" your bedroom is: -to have a Feng Shui expert looking at your whole house, and your chart -to select the best bedroom for you -to select the best bed position in accordance to your chart -to advice on colours to transform the energy in the room for your benefit.
