There are minimal risks involved with getting a CT scan. Your doctor should check your kidney function to be sure your kidneys can handle getting dye. This may be done at your doctors office or at the place that does the CT. The newer dyes used now are lower risk of any allergic reaction and are much easier on your kidneys to process. We check everyone over 16 years old before giving any dye.

As always discuss with your doctor if there is any reason not to get the dye.

Which is more likely to be dangerous-a volcano that erupts frequently or a volcano that has been inactive for a hundred years?

a volcano that hasn't been active for a hundred years because of viscosity which is the resistance to flow and one that has been inactive for a hundred years would have a low viscosity and would stick more for a better but more dangerous explosion.

How old was Frida Kahlo when she got polio?

Kahlo contracted polio at six, which left her right leg thinner than the left, which Kahlo disguised by wearing long, colorful skirts. It has been conjectured that she also suffered from spina bifida, a congenital disease that could have affected both spinal and leg development. On September 17, 1925, Kahlo was riding in a bus when the vehicle collided with a trolley car. She suffered serious injuries in the accident, including a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. An iron handrail pierced her abdomen and her uterus, which seriously damaged her reproductive ability. (Wikipedia)

Why do whales have pelvic bones and fish don't?

Whales are mammals ; see relevant link for additional information . Whales have pelvic bones because millions of years ago, they were land animals, but as they evolved, they no longer needed their pelvis because over time they lost their need for legs. So now their pelvis and legs are vestigial, meaning they no longer serve their original purpose. They just kept the trait. As for fish, they never had legs, so no need for a pelvis.
