Behr thinks so, I believe they are correct. I've used both. Try a blind paint test. Pour out some Behr Premium Plus Ultra and some Sherwin Williams Duration. Have someone roll both on a white primed piece of drywall. Watch the coverage. It's visually distinct. Behr wins hands down. Now try Behr Premium Plus and Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 200. Now you really see the difference. I've used both on my rental properties. Behr allows me to save money and time. Fewer coats are needed. The pealing exterior window frames cover well with Ultra paint and primer in 1. The paint shell that follows after drying is hard and durable. So far one winter shows no sign of degrade, fading or discoloration. Home Depot's pricing .is remarkable less than the Sherwin Williams. Unless I receive some stimulus to buy other paint- Behr is all I will buy
If the plywood is for an indoor craft project: Water base enamel. For outdoors: Oil base with UV inhibitors Key is using the proper base or primer or undercoating. Follow paint manufacturer's recommendation.
When a manufacturer claims that their paint is a paint and primer in one, all they are promising is that you can use that paint as the first coat over drywall or a previously painted surface that is clean and in good shape other than a few ordinary repair materials like spackle or putty. These paints can not normally be used a s bridge between oil and latex paints. For these applications, and any other application other than a simple repaint, a specialty primer should be used.
Any light color will work best. Lighter colors reflect more of the suns rays. On that note, you want to go with a high end exterior paint. Like Valspar® Duramax® Paint or Behr® Premium Plus Ultra®I've used the Valspar I own a ranch west of Phoenix. The paint is great, didn't need to prime. I used two coats but it covered in one. I hope this was some help.*Prep & wash the home before paint.Answer 2:The best exterior paint for you will depend on the type of siding on your home as well as your location. I would go to a local paint store and ask for a recommendation.

First, do you have marine plywood or pressure-treated plywood? They are NOT the same thing. Assuming you have pressure-treated plywood, your best bet would be to use Flood CWF-UV, the Olympic equivalent of same, or Behr Premium Waterproofer. Basically, a weatherproofing product that has a little body to it. If you pick the can up and slosh it, and it sounds like a bucket of water, put that back. What you want will sound like a can of paint--much thicker. If you really do have marine plywood, the only thing I'd use would be Sikkens Cetol.
You need to rough up the surface of the oil paint with sand paper or a light coat of stripper.

It depends on the kind of paint it can veri from 39 ft to 50 ft if used right Improved Answer: Even a high build elastomeric paint goes 80 square feet a gallon. A standard gallon of paint has a theoretical coverage rate of 400 sq ft. However, this amount will be reduced on a porous or textured surface as much as half.
Softwood such as pine is usually used to make plywood boards.
