Can cranberry juice cause gout?
No there is no connection between gout and tomato's. as a mater of fact a reasonable amount o vegetable is good for gout. Although this may be true for whole tomatoes I have personally had 2 bouts of gout brought on by drinking tomato juice. I have only just confirmed that tomato juice is a cause of gout today with a medical professional. I have never had an attack of gout from eating whole tomatoes, tomato soup or tomato sauce; so it may be something to do with the processing of the tomato juice. Other vegetables (fruits) that are bad for gout are asparagus, mangoes and mushrooms. I later learned from my doctor that the blood pressure medicine I am taking can also cause gout by interacting with different foods, the doctor decided to put me on allopurinol to prevent futher gout attacks.

yes
yes in fact it can. It would seem that grapefruit is moderately low in purines and therefore would not in itself play a large role in a gout attack. However, things are not as they always seem with gout. Personal experience says that drinking Grapefruit Juice 16 oz's a day or more can actually bring on a gout attack. This result is repeatable with some gout sufferers, while others don't seem to be affected. When in doubt go lightly on the Grapefruit Juice.
Powerade does not cause gout because of the carbohydrates included in the drink. Powerade only causes cancer and lepracy because of the overdosing on the drink.

No. However, cranberry juice is a little higher in acid content than other juices, and it can have a beneficial effect. For example, women who drink cranberry juice are less likely to experience urinary tract infections (UTIs) and people who drink it are less likely to suffer from gout. The extra acidity in the urine kills off some of the bacteria that can get into the bladder, and the extra acidity in the blood can prevent uric acid crystals from forming in the joints (most commonly in the big toe) which causes the painful swelling associated with gout.
No. Olives are not effective treatment for gout. I am not sure on olives. them being and oil and all. but however i do know any kind of cranberry will help as well as cherries. my dad had a lot of problems with the uric acid crystals and was having hard time even standing. he eats a hand ful of dried cherries everyday and drinks cranberry juice. u can also get cranberry exctract pills will work too. but he hardly ever has a problem now 65 and works 50-60 hrs a week.

You may be referring to gout. Refined sugar doesn't help but the bigger culprits would be alcohol, meats, shellfish, organ meats, and rapid weight loss. Anything that produces purines or increases uric acid levels must be avoided. Drinking pure cherry juice helps some people with gout.
