yes, they are good for your fish when chopped up, but dont use them daily. if you want something other than flakes for daily food, use blood worms. The best thing to use is baby brine shimp, but they can be expensive and hard to find.

If your earthworms are small enough and your platies are large enough, yes by all means feed them whole earthworms. If the worms are too big you can chop them up. I used to use a razor blade to chop them finely for the smaller fish. Once your fish have been eating earthworms for a while, you will notice their better allround health and condition and they will also get sick less often. Please remember to remove any left over, uneaten, chopped worm from the bottom of the tank within 1 hour of feeding them to the fish. They will polute the tank otherwise.
