No. Any good tattoo artist will tell you never use Neosporin. H2Ocean is a great brand of healing products for care of tattoos and piercings.
While I agree with the last guy on H2Ocean, we sell it in my shop. It is truly great, I use it myself. How ever if the client does not want to spend the 10 bucks on the H2Ocean we wil give them a small packet of bacitration...Why, because a tattoo is a topical wound and like any topical wound should be treated with a antibiotic oinment for the first three days.
The secret to using an antibiotic ointment is dont use very much of it... In fact if you can see it on there you have too much...We dont give neosporin away because it contains neomyacin and 3 out of every 100 people are allergic to it....Hope this helps...

Yes if you cake it up over your new tattoo, especially if you add another thick layer over the first without washing the old off.
No, if you use it correctly. After washing the tattoo with anti-bacterial soap and cold water, rinse it with cold clear water and just blot dry..Then add the barest minimum of anti-biotic ointment... Literally if you can see it on there, you got too much.. Use it 3 to 4 times a day but for only three days,,, Then switch to a good skin moisturizer....Hope this helps.

I actually recommend using neosporin. Personally, I have many tattoos on my body and I've found the best results using this. I DEFFINATLY do not recommend using vasoline, even if your tattoo artist recommend it! This is basically a trick tattoo studios do to get clients to come back. Vasoline damages your tattoo and will pull some of the ink out. It makes the skin soggy and the ink raises to the top. Tattoo artists tell you to use it because if your tattoo begins to fade and you want it fixed. You'll probably go back to them to have it redone. There are other tattoo ointments out there that you can use too, but I think they are just scented abstracts of neosporin, and they cost quite a bit sometimes. Just dont use very much of any petroleum jelly based product. And only use it for three days. Rule of thumb is 'if ya can see it on there, you got too much'.
