Yes, but the method for making sure the material separates from the plaster mould is quite involved. Some mould makers use shellac, followed by a soap treatment. No. This makes no sense the way its said. If you want to grind pewter into a powder and put it in your plaster mix, then go ahead. No real benifeits other than making a heavy plaster piece.
