you can put it over but the wall will look a bit fat
It's best to remove wallpaper (as best you can) before repainting a wall. You can rent a wallpaper steamer at your local tool rental place (U-Haul, etc...).
Wallpaper can be painted over, but it's a BAD IDEA. Sooner or later, the wallpaper will peel. When it does, the paint will be compromised and you'll end up having to refinish the entire wall. It's a much better idea to remove the wallpaper. Then, clean & sand the surface before painting. Anything else will ultimately be a waste of time.
If the wallpaper removal doesn't work, you can try splashing some water on it. Then rip the wall paper off. Another option would be to paint over the wallpaper.
Are you planning to paint over the wallpaper? Make sure there are no loose ends or bubbles in the paper. Latex flat or satin paint will work but you will see the seams in the wallpaper and the paint may cause the paper to lift off the wall. Better to remove the paper first for the best look and most durability. I had to paint over paper and decided to texture the wall first with a skim coat of plaster. Doesn't look bad but a LOT of work!
You can paint over wall paper. However it is recommended that you prime with an oil based primer. Kilz Original for example. Most wall papers use water based glues for adhesion. If you put a waterbased topcoat over the the wallpaper it could penetrate the wall paper and cause the glue to release. You can use a waterbased top coat such as Kilz Casual Colors over the top of the oil based primer.
No, but sometimes it was used in the wallpaper paste
Wallpaper can be repaired by applying more wallpaper paste to the part that is coming off and smoothing it down on the wall so there are no air bubbles.

Will Wallpaper sizing work hanging wallpaper over wallpaperYes, but it has been my experience that you will never be fully happy with the results. I always remove old wallpaper prior to changing to a different wall-covering. It just makes for a better finished job. Note: If you decide to remove the old wallpaper I use white vinegar and warm water applying several coats, after removing as much of the "easily" removed loose paper.
Use cheap fabric softener and a sponge, glue should come right off!!!
A wall covering can be one of a few different things. It could be a mural which isÊhung in a similar way to wallpaper, using some sort of adhesive. It would also be a textile wall hanging, which are typically hung using a casing which has been mounted on to the back. Finally, wallpaper is sometimes referred to as wall covering and is hung using wallpaper paste.
Gum, believe it or not!
