It is the paint, the color is just color and does not change the base paint. Depending on the grade of paint it may not cover as well as it would with color added.

What is the difference between a light base and regular latex paint?

The primary difference between Deep-Base and Medium-Base paint is the amount of room there is can to allow for tint to be added into. Example, most paint companys allow for 12-14 ounces of colorant for a Deep-Base and 8-12 ounces of colorant for a Medium-Base. When painting with deep base colors such there is a slightly different application approach to take than when working with lighter colors. This is because the tint base used for these colors lacks white pigment (titanium dioxide). Titanium dioxide is what gives a paint hide and coverage; without white pigment the paint must be built up or layered with multiple coats. Deep base colors can take 3 or more coats for full coverage. In addition to this, many deep base colors also require a tinted primer in order to help with hide and coverage.

Can you paint latex base paint over oil base paint on drywall?

Yes, you can.

Can you use chlorinated rubber base paint over synthetic rubber base paint?

Absolutely not and you should use the same manufacturer of the paint you have on there also. Sorry you can only use a chlorinated rubber base paint on a rubber base paint. If you try to paint with the chlorinated rubber base on top of a synthetic rubber base paint it will probably peel like a bad sunburn.

Can you paint alkyd paint over oil paint?

Can you paint acrylic enamel paint over base coat paint?

If the base coat used in your project is water base then yes, you bet you can. If there is any chance that the base coat used was an oil base paint then you cannot paint directly over it. The acrylic enamel will not adhere to the oil base paint and will begin to peel off as soon as it is dry. In which case a coat of primer is in order.

What paint should you use to cover a base metal chain without affecting flexibility?

Why would you paint a base metal chain? Why not get it electroplated in white or yellow gold. You probably need to paint it before the links were put together. Good question.
