Don't use just any paint or primer when attempting to cover wallpaper. The moisture in paint and primer will cause your wallpaper to lift at the seems and bubble everywhere else, and they will not go away by themselves. Binzer, if I remember correctly, makes a shellac primer that dries very, very quickly and does not give the wallpaper enough time to bubble. A word of advise on the shellac: be absolutely sure to use enough ventilation. You will need to open the room as much as possible in which it is being applied. Buy yourself one of the $25.00 respirators with the filter on each side. All this may seem like a hassle but it will save you much aggravation and time.
That's Zinnser BIN primer that is being referred to. Works great! See the related link.
Use gripper as a primer before painting your cabinets. I made the mistake of putting paint over cabinets with out gripper and the paint easily chipped and would even scratch with as little as a fingernail when opening a door or drawer. The next time I painted cabinets I used gripper and after 5 years the cabinets still look like new.
Clean the b.b. first with soap and water. If the b.b. have been painted already , you can directly paint over them. If the surface is very glossy you can use Gripper a superb primer from Glidden. If they are coated with p.u. or stain use Gripper. Felix Handyman
Wallpaper can be painted over, but it's a BAD IDEA. Sooner or later, the wallpaper will peel. When it does, the paint will be compromised and you'll end up having to refinish the entire wall. It's a much better idea to remove the wallpaper. Then, clean & sand the surface before painting. Anything else will ultimately be a waste of time.
You really shouldn't. most wallpaper adhesive is water soluable and will cause the paint to have adhesion problems.
There is no specific brand of paint designed to cover wallpaper. Paint carries too much moisture to use on top of wallpaper. When paint is applied to wallpaper the wallpaper absorbs some of the moisture and immediately begins to bubble and lift at the seams. Your best bet is to soak the wallpaper with hot water and a sponge and let it soak in completely. Enzyme based wallpaper remover also works well because it eats away the glue backing on the wallpaper. There is a method for painting over wallpaper if for some reason you do not want to remove it. Pick up some shellac primer and apply that to the wallpaper. It dries so quickly the wallpaper doesn't have time enough to bubble. Then you can apply the paint. Word of warning: make sure you have a lot of ventilation when using the shellac. It have very strong fumes. I hope this helps.
Yes, -but I wouldn't recommend painting over ANY wallpaper - it's a sloppy, lazy way to do redecoration, and the paint will not adhere as well.
Yes, you can paint over existing wallpaper, but it is important to properly prepare the surface by cleaning it thoroughly and applying a primer before painting to ensure the best results.
It is generally recommended to remove wallpaper before painting to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Mud over wallpaper may not adhere well and could lead to issues with the paint job.

If the wallpaper removal doesn't work, you can try splashing some water on it. Then rip the wall paper off. Another option would be to paint over the wallpaper.
