I would imagine you could but you sure are creating a ton of work for yourself. Painted wood paneling -grooves and all is being done a lot these days and looks great. I think I would consider covering the paneling with 1/2" sheet rock if a smooth surface was the goal. After all - what price sanity?!
I am painting my garage door and was going to attempt to use a paint brush to go over the door cracks with joint compound before I painted to make the surface look flawless. Would this work?
No it will not work, because when the drywall compound dries totally it will lose adherence and crack each time the door is moved. It will soon look bad again. Much better to use an acrylic caulk like Alex ll or similar.
yes fill in the joints sand them then prime it with 123 primer before paint it may require two coats of primer.
YES. -always tape first, mud will crack without it.
Powder coated outdoor furniture must be properly prepared before painting. A light sanding will allow penetration by the paint. It is advisable to wipe the furniture after sanding and before painting.
before painting a staircase you might want to consider sanding it first. (and a little tip) Use terpentine based paint
Use gripper as a primer before painting your cabinets. I made the mistake of putting paint over cabinets with out gripper and the paint easily chipped and would even scratch with as little as a fingernail when opening a door or drawer. The next time I painted cabinets I used gripper and after 5 years the cabinets still look like new.
With proper surface preparation, yes. To prepare the surface, you should very lightly scuff all surfaces you plan on painting. A sanding sponge would work great for this (220 grit or close to it) - your end goal is to just rough the surface up enough to give the new paint a better surface to adhere to. Make sure you wipe all the sanding dust off before painting and be very careful not to get too aggressive while sanding as you do not want to expose the raw material of the desk. Testing first on a small, inconspicuous area is never a bad idea :)
If it's a wood deck, then sanding is the best option. Pressure washing will damage the wood which will have to be repaired by sanding. Also, if the coating has a tenacious bond, pressure washing will not get ir all up. The rest will need to be removed either chemically, or mechanically by sanding.

You will only need to purchase paint if you plan on painting the cabinets with color. Otherwise you will need sanding material. Stain if not painting them.

They are put on the end of power tools to smooth surfaces such as wood and metal. Normally done before painting is done on the object.
if you must paint a fence and that is all that is required- you would overacheive but repairing any damages sanding and primering it before painting- expect to do it better then what is expected

there are two ways you can take a longstrike stock out the first one is to take apart the gun and remove the stock or you can mod it by filing or sanding down the front grooves of the stock. you can check on how to do this on youtube. hope this helps.
A sanding block is basically just a small piece of wood or other material covered with a sanding belt or sand paper.
Whenever a plastic or wood cutting board gets very worn with many grooves and cuts, it should either be refinished or replaced. Wood can be sanded. Some plastic boards might do well with refinishing - try manual sanding or planing. Wood cutting boards should be treated with food grade mineral oil after sanding. Do not use cooking oil since that will turn rancid.
