You could, if you careful not to get it on your house or neighbors house. And you might want to have tarps all over the painting area that way it doesn't hit your lawn or driveway. However, is this car a, ahem, "clunker"? If I were you I would paint a car by yourself if you aren't a pro. I'm not a pro either, but I've seen peoples cars they have tried to paint, and it didn't turn out to well...
So, frankly i would send it to a professional auto painting shop.

Why would your trucks battery gauge go down when you go inside the car wash bay?

If the engine is idling during the car wash, then spray is probably getting in and shorting out the battery causing a near stall situation. The water spray from the car wash may be causing the belt to slip. That would cause the alternator to spin too slowly to generate the proper voltage.

What all can be washed in a car wash?

If you leave the windows down and have a bottle of shampoo almost everything can be washed in a car wash! If your in a hurry and have a pickup just put a clothes line in the bed and for $5 bucks you can wash most of your laundry in minutes depending how long you can park under the DRY section! If you are talking about just your car and going threw a car wash its basically going to wash anything that is easy to wash off. If you want the best results from a car wash it will never be a drive threw one. You will have to get out and do it your self either at home or in a car wash spray booth.

Is spray painting a car a chemical or physical change?

Spray painting a car involves a chemical change because the paint chemicals react to form a new substance that bonds to the surface of the car's body. This is different from a physical change, where the paint would simply be a new layer on top of the car without a chemical reaction occurring.
