I'm a painter in Rural Central Pa. (Lancaster). an average exterior double pane wood window with 6-9 lights (or panes of glass) per sash. starts around $65 each. More if its real rough , lots of peeling paint, and more if glazing the individual widow panes. It ususally takes about an hour to do a decent window, double that if it's in rough condition. I also charge more for a second floor ($85) and more again for 3rd floor. It's the prep work that is labour intensive and that can add up. Interior usually is more like $50 or so, less if its a modern vinyl window where you may only be painting the frame. Dramatic contrasting colors (white woodwork on dark walls) and time because the lines are more noticable, so that adds cost as well.

∙ 11y agoI charge $50.00 aHour It takes about 2 hrs to do! The proper way to charge for a window painting is not by the hour. Professional window sign painters use "Signwriters Price Guide". The correct way to price is by the square foot, depending on light copy, med. or heavy copy, extra for additional art, Cartoons, etc. I have a $200. minimum which is pretty common in the trade. ∙ 12y agothere are several factors to decide with this question. where is the window frame located? is it a third story window or a first floor window frame. is it a matter of just recoating the window frame or does a whole lot of prep work have to be done prior to the actual painting. typically expect to pay anywhere from $25 to $55. again there a re many things to take in to consideration when painting exterior frames.
