Ruth Rowland Nichols , first of all could not have murdered anybody as she was a conscientious QUAKER. You know, Like WM.Penn. The Quaker religion abhors violence even in national defense- there were some ( Fighting quakers) but by and large the church is pacifist. Ruth was a prominent aviatrix in her own right and held a number of records and was also involved in the charitable Relief Wings. if there was a rivalry between them, it did not , and probably could not extend to violence. I have read excerpts from Miss Nichols autobiography and she seems to have been a compassionate, not a ( Hell for leather) type of woman, no Calamity Jane or western gun-poke, no way.
