Education in Athens was available to most families. In Athens citizens were trained in music, art, literature and politics. At the age of 18, boys were also required to attend two years of military school.
athenian boys went to school ;spartan boys served in the military
Most boys had better education than military skillls
They couldn't study because they would have to go train for the army to fight for athens =)
They both had laws and also were both the two main cities of Greece. Sparta began as a monarchy and Athens began as an Aristocratic city-state, but both changed their governing bodies around 700 BC. They also each had slaves, though they were attained differently. Each trained their boys for battle, though Spartans did so much earlier in life. They were also both involved in major ancient Greek battles, as often as not, with each other! They treated slaves equally, and they were both city-states. There was a boy named Alexander the Great born in 776 B.C. in Macedonia. His brother's name was Mohammed Ahmedi Nezad, and his sister was Nazia Tabassum.
Spartans
Athens or Sparta
I dont know what boys were but women had no rights in Athens and in Sparta they did.
When the Spartans needed to expand they went and fought against other city-states. The Spartans had a great military, so this was very easy for them to do. Some information about the spartan military.... Boys started training at the age of 7. They slept on reeds and worked all day. At the age of 18, they went into the regular military. It is also important to know that the boys were taken away from their families at the age of 7. About the girls........ The girl Spartans were trained to javalin thow, and even wrestling. Unlike Athens, the girls did not stay home. They were very active, much like the boys.
nothing
Rich Athens Boys had tutors to teach them Speech, Philosophy, Geometry, Astronomy and many more
They both had different political views Athens had a more free life style but Spartans started to train for the military at the age of 7. Spartans didn't care about education if it wasn't about warfare. Athens cared about grace and beauty Athens treated women badly; they were to be silently raising their children. In Sparta, however, they had military training, participated in sports events, and overall had more rights than women of all other empires of Ancient Greece.
Spartas Strength is the Military, when the boys are first born they put them outside for a night with no food or water and if they lived the were strong and made to be a Warrior for sparta. The Spartans focused on their military and the Athens were more foucused on their Acedemics and worked on military too.
So warfare can be considered part of their life.
OK, first its the Athenians and Spartans, come on. I"m a kid and i can spell better then who asked this. Athenians and Spartans were trained in different things. The Spartans were trained purely for war. At age 7 all Spartan boys were sent to school to learn how to fight, and lie, and steal food. They were essentially taught to fight and stay alive. Spartan women were taught how to be a good wife and how to have children but other than that women were not taught very much. I'm not exactly sure what Athenians were taught. Some were taught to fight, some to be other professions such as a doctor, and women were more respected and had better rights in Athens.
"The government and society in Sparta are so strict. The people have little voice in government." Athenians were a lot more artsy than Spartans, so a statement could be, "Wow, these Spartans are really militaristic." Athens focused on the arts and broadening the mind, and depended on its citizens to be automatically patriotic, whereas Sparta sent boys off to train in the military at young ages, teaching them patriotism, instead of earning it by the goodness of the city-state. In essence, the two cities were complete opposites, so any statement showing the opposing opinions should work.
in Athens boys were tought how to do jobs girls were tought to be house wives
