Absolutely not. He had enough going on in his head.

Music would have interfered with his own frequencies. Music, to someone with a high degree of sensitivity, is an imposition, and impedes the process.

Artists who work with intense sensitivity are actually bothered by the imposition of external manmade sounds.

There is a misconception that music enhances the artistic process.

Some artists do need an audio jumpstart. Kandinsky, as example.
