No, you do not need to flush your engine at 9,000 miles. You don't even need to do it at 30,000 miles. You will however need to flush everything else, but I would say engine flush not really needed unless you drive your vehicle without changing the oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Now once you start getting in the 40 and 50,000 mile range I would say about once or twice a year I would use some sort of engine cleaner. Hope this helped, good luck, Nick
