Dye and black ink can be separated by chromatography, where the mixture is dissolved in a solvent and allowed to move up a filter paper. The different components in the mixture will move at different rates based on their solubility in the solvent, allowing them to be separated visually.
Ink sacs can be combined with wool to make black wool. They can also be combined with 1x Bonemeal to make grey dye, and 2x Bonemeal to make light grey dye. You can also use an ink sac on a sheep to dye it black, meaning all wool shorn from it will be black.
Pigment ink contains solid particles that sit on top of the paper, while dye ink is liquid and absorbs into the paper. Pigment ink is more fade-resistant and water-resistant, while dye ink produces more vibrant colors.
