clay has a chemical in it that absorbs water. So it holds water well. But it will not drain fast.
it gets soft and it starts to sort of break down the chemicals that are in it(muddy like, smeary)
Clay is absorbent because the particles have not been fused with heat to the point of vitrification, at which point it becomes ceramic.
Clay can get wet, but by definition "clay" describes the consistency of the substance, not the composition.
Dry clay can be recycled by putting it in water. This will remoisten the clay and allow it to be kneaded and molded. Once clay has been fired it can no longer be recycled. Fired clay can be soaked a long time and will not dissolve.
you take a piece of clay and use it on a bucket of water, voila, soft clay.
stick clay with WATER

In the "Kilning" and "bisquing" processes, the moist clay loses water (Evaporates). The water makes up about 5-10 % of the clays' substance, thus, on average, clay shrinks about 15-20% after it is in its final finished stage.
Soft clay is simply clay added with water. All you do is mine clay (lvl 5 mining req.) take a bucket of water and use the clay on the water.
one of them is clay
Because clay is a solid and water is a liquid
Clay, in fact, does sink at certain conditions. ~Liz http://eragongal44.webs.com
Water is held between soil particles by capillary forces. Coarse sandy soils have large pores and water drains through it quickly. Clay soils have smaller pores and are able to hold more water.
