Break lights come on when you step on the break, they do not come on when the head lights are turned on.

Why won't the brake and parking lights turn off in a 1992 Toyota Corolla?

Brake and parking lights? Are you sure, the two aren't interconnected. Maybe it's just the brake light. If so, sounds like a bad brake light switch. If you step on the brakes and the brake and parking (sometimes called running lights) lights come on it sounds like you have a real problem. Suggest you have it checked right away.

What fuse controls the parking lights - 1995 Chevy Impala?

In a 1995 Chevy Impala, the parking lights are typically controlled by the "Park Lamps" fuse, which is located in the fuse box. This fuse is usually labeled as "PARK" or "PARKING LAMPS." If the parking lights are not functioning, checking this fuse for continuity or replacing it if it's blown is a good first step in troubleshooting. Always refer to the owner's manual for the exact fuse location and specifications.

Why don't the 'daytime driving lights' work on a 1999 GMC Suburban anymore?

Make sure your parking brake is all the way off. If you notice, whenever you step on the parking brake, it turns the driving lights OUT. Even one click on the parking brake may be causing them to not come on. Otherwise check your fuses and there is a relay for the running lights also. Check that as well. Check the DRL diode. It is located just left of center under the dash. Has one screw holding it to the cross bar; kind of a pain to get to, but fixed the problem.

How do break lights work?

Why do the brake lights on a 2000 4Runner barely come on when the headlights are turned on?

The brake lights should not come one until you step on the brakes. The tail lights should come on when the headlights are on. If they're weak, maybe there's dirt in/on the lenses or maybe the bulb is old and clouded. Change the bulbs and see if that improves things.

What would make the parking lights on a 99 Lincoln town car not to work?

Try replacing a bulb. There are instances where a short in the wiring will cause the bulbs to burn out. If that does not work the headlight switch is the next step.
