he practically changed it. He was the first man to use oil based paints instead of tempera, so that inspired artists to work with a new tool. he also created a new perspective for painting and drawing. People look at his work and are instantly inspired and think about some things differently.

He was a great man, we all agree. He was born in 1452. Oil paints were used in Flanders in the 1420's. The linear perspective was first demonstrated by Brunelleschi in Florence about 1415.

Leonardo was not the person that created the oil based paints it was Van Eyck.....just saying
