Leonardo was born an illegimate son of a wealthy man and grew up not accepted by society because of his status. No uncle helped him nor influenced him. At 16 his father gets him an apprenticeship in a artist workshop. He finishes his apprenticeship at age 20, but stays with the workshop and joins the artist guild.
