recover the r-134, remove the driver's side panel inside the rear hatch. Remove the rear expansion valve flush any debris out of the a/c lines and install a new rear expansion valve. Add the appropriat amt of oil back into the system. If you don't know, after flushing about 3 or 4 oz. Recharge the system with 3lb 8oz r-134. Run the a/c, look for leaks, Re-install the panel
cold front
Warm front, Cold front,
Cold fronts tend to effect the eastern states more than the western states. However, California can get cooler weather when a cold front occurs which can effect fishing.
sounds like you need to replace either the thermostat or the temp control switch
Check your coolant level, If low you need to find the leak.
thermostat stuck
can you please clarify what you mean, do you mean that the front heater blows cold but the rear blows hot or do you mean that when the heating is on cold it blows hot? many thanks paul
Above the warm front the wind generally blows SouthEast. In between the cold and the warm front the wind blows SouthWest. And finally above the cold front the winds blow NorthWest
Check your coolant level. It may be critically low.
The most common reason the heater is blows cold air on a 1999 Ford Winstar is a bad thermostat or blocked heater core.
When air is cooled , its density increases .
You probably have a faulty rear temperature blend door actuator. Remove the left rear trim panel to access it. Be sure to review "Related Questions" below for much much more on Windstar heating/cooling problems
you need a new heater door actuator motor about 50 dollars from ford. For a comprehensive review of Windstar "no heat" problems, see "Related Questions" below for more
#1 problem with Windstar climate control - the inability to adjust the temperature settings.Heaters blow cold, A/C blow warm or hot. There's a small actuator motor that moves the temperature blend door under the dash. Open all the way and the air picks up the maximum heat passing through the heater core. Close it and no air passed through the core. The source of the problem is this motor fails.Luckily, this is an easy do-it-yourself fix and the part is widely available.See "Related Questions" below for moreHopefully, this is your fix too...
I'm not a mechanic / technician but it sounds like your engine cooling thermostat is sticking open ( assuming that the electric engine cooling fans are not running continuously )
It's the blend door on the HVAC box. It's what controls what temp air comes through the vents.
You will need to replace the rear expansion block valve and the recharge the system with freon and oil..............
