smart... depends the horse. personalities, previous experiences, lots of factors determine how horses act... quarter horses are known to be generally level headed and fairly intellegent.
It's all in the horse, not the breed. I have ridden quarter horses for 4 years and I absolutely love them, though that is just my opinion.
quarter horses usually act stuburn if they don't get their way.so are good and some are bad,my quarter horse is good and bad
The characteristics of a Quarter horse is simple!!! The half broad chest and big butts!
they are very clever and sweet( except some mares). ihave 3 Quarters of my own and they are good natured!!!!
Quarter Horses are short, muscular, and stocky with short legs and extremely strong hind legs. they also have very largerumps too Quarter Horses are short, muscular, and stocky with short legs and extremely strong hind legs. they also have very largerumps too
Head: Relatively short and wide with a small muzzle and a shallow firm mouth. Full and sensitive nostrils, large eyes set wide apart reflecting intelligence and placid disposition. Well developed jowls.
Neck: Of sufficient length and flexibility to be well balanced and give good manoeuvrability. Throatlatch should be trim and clean.
Shoulders: Long and set at an angle of about 45 degrees. Smooth and relatively heavily muscled.
Chest: Deep and broad with well set forelegs and shoulders. Muscling inside forearm gives the appearance of a well defined inverted V.
Barrel: Back is short and close coupled. Full and powerful across the loins. The girth is deep with well sprung ribs. Underline is longer than the back.
Hindquarters: Broad, deep and heavy. Muscled so that they are full at the stifle, thigh, gaskin and down to the hock. The rump is long and sloping gently from hip to tailhead. Muscling on the hip is long, extending down into the stifle which is deep and ties in well with the gaskin. When viewed from the rear it is the widest part of the Quarter Horse. The gaskin is wide and well muscled inside and outside. The hock is broad, flat, clean, strong, low set and free from excess tissue. The muscling ties well into the hock joint and there is no play or give except directly forward.
Stance: The Quarter Horse stands with his legs well under him and flat on the ground. Mature Size: Although the Quarter Horse usually weighs between 500 and 600 kilos, he is relatively small by comparison to other breeds. Average height is between 14.1 and 15.2 hands high.
Action: square and true. His action is both balanced and easy. Whenever he turns or stops, it is with his hocks well under him.
well, to the untrained horseman's eye, a regular horse, to the trained one, a beautiful, well built worker and competitor.
It really depends on the horse it self (not just the breed itself), and how you act and behave around the horse as well that will effect the way the horse behaves over all.
ususally nervous and stubborn
No, purebred quarter horses cannot be gated. Some people think they can because sometimes a quarter horse can have a big stride or a long stride and seem gated, but it is immpossible. Hope that helps :)
A QH is a quarter horse which is a horse that is used mainly in western tyepes of riding but also some English. They are very strong and have a lot of endurance. You will also hear of AQH which is an American Quater Horse which is just that an American quarter horse( they are only bred/found in America). Also AQHA which is the American Quater Horse Ass.
Quarter horses are so called because of their speed at sprinting (galloping) a quarter-mile. Some say that the name comes from the hefty hind-quarters of the horse; others say that the breed is one-quarter each of four other breeds, including the Thoroughbred. Nonetheless, it is the quarter-mile speed which gives the quarter horse its name.
The American Quarter Horse, or Quarter Horse, is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name is derived from its ability to outrun other horse breeds in races of a quarter mile or less; some have been clocked at speeds up to 55 mph!
A Hand when referring the the height of horses is 4 inches, so a 15 hand horse is 60 inches or 5 feet tall at the withers. 4 inches is 10.16 centimeters. You measure from the ground to the point of the horse or pony's withers. (The point of the withers is commonly defined as the last hair on the neck at the shoulders) There is a unit called hands which is especially for measuring horses. Each hand is 4 inches.
probably some kind of Stock Horse or Quarter Horse.
the most popular horse in the world is the quarter horse
You could get your horse some special treats or special food to eat.

The most loved horse depends on the person. Some people like draft horses and some prefer ponies. The most common horse is the Quarter horse so I guess you could call the Quarter horse the most loved breed.
Some of the larger Quarter Horses can weigh 1200 lbs. and up.
I do believe Epona does not have a specific breed. She has Palomino coloring, but she is very stocky and has horse feathers, which are Clydesdale traits. She very well could be a mix-breed, though. Epona does very well have Clydesdale traits. The feathers (hairs covering her hooves) on her feet say she is probably a cross with a Clydesdale. Belgians (another draft breed) don't usually have feathers. She is very stocky. Her big hindquarters and shoulders make me think that she probably has some Quarter Horse in her. She is very fast like a Quarter Horse, too. So maybe a Clydesdale/Quarter Horse. They were obviously going for a draft, stocky horse when they were creating her. I bet they looked at stocky breeds and draft horses. Probably seeing the beauty of the feathers and strong muscles on the Clydesdale and the stockiness and speed in the Quarter Horse. (if that was what happened) :) I guess every hero needs a big horse, LoL.
I believe it's called the American Quarter Horse. Its name comes from the fact that it can easily outdistance other horses in races of a quarter mile or less, even from a standing start. Some individuals have been clocked at 55 miles per hour.
it depends on the bloodlines of the horse. some can get up to 16 hands, while others can be 14.-15.1. all quarter horses are very broad in the shoulders.
No, because Quarter Horses were not the first horse breed. They were instead, bred by two different breeds.
Quarter horses are named that because they can run a Quarter of a mile really fast. They had races in the old days for a quarter of a mile and they would use Quarter horses for them. Now Quarter Horses aren't as popular for racing, because Thoroughbreds have better stamina.
Any normal sized horse weighs about the same (1000 pounds). However ponies weigh less and draft horses weigh more. as long as the horse is about the same size as a quarter horse they will weight about the same. Some examples are: Paint, Appaloosa, Morgans, TWH, and crosses..
