The continental shelf is an extension of the cotton, only beneath water. The continental slope begins beyond the shelf and slopes downward.
Continental drift is a concept relating to the movement of the Earth's continents. The proving of the continental drift theory came from evidence found around the world. Foremost, scientists had discovered that similar plants and animal fossils were found in or around different continents, suggesting that they were once joined. The theory of plate tectonics also supported continental drift. If one were to look at a global map, the complementary arrangements between South America and Africa can be easily seen.
continents move about as plates of crust and upper mantle, on more mobile layer of asthenophere in the mantle. Movement driven by mantle convection and isostasy. Bumps between continents = mountain chains bump continental with oceanic = island arc vocanoes and subduction of oceanic plate
The continental rise is between the continental shelf and the abyssal plain.LittoralLitoral (alternative spelling)Intertidal
the continental slope
The oceanic plate is thin, dense, and makes up the ocean floor. The continental plate is less-dense, thick, and make up the continents.
Texas
They are different continents.
They are two separate continents.
Hhh
A continent is what floats on top of the plate. There are continental and oceanic plates. The continents float on the continental plate and the ocean sits on the oceanic plate. But there are also plates that carry both continents and oceans. The plates are what causes continental drift. So basically plates are what carry the continents and oceans.
Two differences are that the oceanic crust is more dense than continental, and continental crust is composed mostly of granite, while oceanic is mostly basalt
1. The Oceanic crust is dense while the Continental crust is relatively lighter. 2. The Oceanic crust consists of Silicon and Magnessium, while the Continental crust has Silicon and Alluminium. 3. The Oceanic crust is thin, while the Continental crust is thick. 4. The Oceanic crust makes up the ocean floor, while the Continental crust carries the continents.
CONTINENTAL CRUST is 35km of thickness and oceanic is 7 km. i hope that helped
they a r both different continents with different
they are the 2 types of crust
One is bigger than the other one
