Port Royal, 1st Visit Items: Mythril Stone Mythril Shard (x3) Ether (x4) Isla de Muerta Map Naval Map AP Boost (x3) Mythril Gem Mega-Potion Enemies: Undead Pirates Air Pirate Shadow Hammer Frame Soldier Barbossa (Boss) Cannon Gun Illuminator (Boss) Keyblade: Follow the Wind Bonuses: HP +5 (Sora) Drive Gauge +1 Draw ability (Donald) Aerial Finish ability (Sora) HP +5 (Goofy) HP +8 (Donald) Item Slot (Sora) Teamwork limit (Goofy) Auto Limit ability (Goofy) Second Chance ability (Goofy) HP +25 (Jack) After the team lands, search this first area for a MYTHRIL STONE, an ETHER, and a NAVAL MAP (3/14). Head down the steps next to the chest that had the map in it. Pete is here discussing matters with Captain Barbossa, and when Sora arrives, he has to fight four of Barbossa's men. When you begin the battle, you'll notice that your attacks don't do anything. Hit the pirates enough times to trigger the next cutscene. Now that the moon's out, it will be possible to defeat the pirates. Use the Return Fire reaction command to speed things up. Also, using magic on these guys is much more effective than on normal enemies. Thunder causes them to move slow, Blizzard freezes them in place, and Fire causes them to run around panicking. You'll also deal a lot more damage. After you've defeated them, head into town. Here you'll meet Elizabeth and Will, who are being tormented by the Heartless. You'll fight some Shadows, some Soldiers, and a new Heartless, the Cannon Gun. These Heartless like to stay away from Sora and shoot bombs at him. The bomb's landing point is easily seen from the giant target that follows Sora around. They aren't that tough if you take them out before they have a chance to really disrupt things. Your next goal is the Docks, but there are some things we can get right here in the town first. Most of the junk here can be hacked away to reveal new passages through town. From where you start off after the cutscene, head forward to the pile of junk and take a right. Near the end of the alley is a MYTHRIL SHARD (4/14). Back at the beginning of the alley, hack away at the two explosives on either side of you. One leads to a little alcove with an AP BOOST (5/14), and the other opens a new area. Head straight into this new area, and hack away at the explosives in front of you to reveal a MYTHRIL GEM (6/14). To the right of this opening is another chest with an ETHER (7/14). Head to the Harbor now. Here you'll meet Captain Jack Sparrow, whom Sora is quite excited to meet. Jack will join your party. When you are ready, talk to Will. The team will board the Interceptor to attempt the rescue of Elizabeth Swan. Once aboard the ship, you can head down into the Hold to Save and shop with the Moogle. Here you could buy a Victory Bell and a Chain Gear for Donald and Goofy respectively, but it won't matter too much. Your money will probably be better spent on restorative items. Back up on deck, talk to Jack and head for the Black Pearl. On the way there, you will be waylaid by Undead Pirates and Air Pirates. The team heads all the way to the Isle de Muerta, where Jack and Will take off on their own. Sora gets bored of watching the ship, so he decides to go check on them. Save and head north to the Cave Mouth. The couple chests in this area contain an ETHER and a MYTHRIL SHARD (9/14). Continue north. Elizabeth and Will will show up (no sign of Jack), and it seems that they are retreating. Sora holds off the Undead Pirates while Will goes to ready the ship for sail. You don't actually have to defeat them, but rather survive for one minute. If you want to fight them, lure them into the moonlight and make good use of the reaction commands. After a minute is up, the team runs back to the ship. Will then explains what happened to Jack back on the island. After that, you get the ISLA DE MUERTA MAP. Will has everyone sail back to Port Royal. Again, on the way there, you'll be ambushed by Undead Pirates. Lure them to the back of the boat where the most moonlight is. Before you get anywhere, the Black Pearl will catch up with you, and you'll have a battle on your hands. During this next unique battle, you'll have to fight wave after wave of Undead Pirates, while protecting the Medallion, and while avoiding cannon shots from the other ship. The in game tip also tells you to shoot the cannon at the Black Pearl to make things easier, but I'm not sure exactly how it makes things easier. The cannon shots from the other ship are easy enough to avoid; just look for the light blue ring that appears on the deck to avoid the blast. If a Pirate takes the Medallion from you, you have a minute to defeat the Pirate to make him drop it. You can see which one has the Medallion from the little speech bubble with a Medallion in it next to him. Keep the Pirates over by the lit back area of the boat to optimize your Pirate killing skillz. Bonus: Sora: HP +5 Donald: Draw ability Goofy: HP +5 After some events unfold, Sora, Jack, Donald and Goofy must remove the explosives from the ship they're in so that they (and Elizabeth) aren't blown to smithereens. Save and head up to the deck. There are five burning barrels (as shown by the five burning barrel icons at the top of the screen), and you must hit Triangle at each one to launch them into the water. Air Pirates will also be attacking at this point, but you should ignore them and concentrate on the barrels, since it won't be long before the first one starts to blow due to a Heartless attack. Take out the three in front of you, and then turn around and jump up to the upper deck to take care of the other two. Bonus: Sora: Item Slot Donald: HP +4 Goofy: Second Chance ability Jack: HP +10 Back on the Isla de Muerta, head north until you reach the Powder Store area. Like the town, this area has explosive boxes that you can hack up to find chests and such. The first one to your left will explode automatically, and an Undead Pirate attacks. Take care of him and grab the chest behind him for an AP BOOST (10/14). The next pair of boxes explode automatically, and two more pirates attack. Behind the last explosive barrier is another AP BOOST (11/14). In the Moonlight Nook area, the only moonlight is in the center of the room, meaning basically, no matter where you hit the pirates, they almost always fly backwards into the shadows. Just be patient and let them come back in the middle before attacking again. Try to freeze or slow them with magic once they're in the middle. After you've dealt with them, grab the three remaining chests: an ETHER, a MEGA-POTION, and a MYTHRIL SHARD (14/14). Head north. Sora takes out the pirates during the actual cutscene, giving you a bit of a break from the pirate pwning. The real battle, however, is just ahead. =========================================================================== Boss: Barbossa and Illuminator When the fight begins, the Illuminator will darken the room dramatically. In this state, you won't be able to damage Barbossa. What you need to do is quickly scan the walls of the room to find the glowing eyes of the Illuminator. For now you can run over to it and kill it in a few hits, but when it comes back later in the battle, it will be a lot harder to hit. Once the lights are back up, you'll have the chance to damage Barbossa. There are still some dark parts of the room, but for the most part, you won't have to worry about luring him into moonlight. Barbossa attacks mainly with his sword, but he does occasionally use his gun and bombs. Sora tends to go flying backwards after these attacks, so remember to use Square or Circle to recover. Once the battle wears towards the end, Barbossa's attacks will become more brutal, but there is also a chance to use a couple new reaction commands. When Barbossa starts a wild sword attack, use Land to trap his sword, and then Reverse Blade to smack him quite a distance and take away a good chunk of HP. There is also a Twin Counter attack that can be used when Jack is near. After Barbossa is swung up into the air, quickly hit Sonic Dive to have Jack throw you up to hit Barbossa. Valor and Wisdom are both good choices to use in this battle. Valor will make the battle considerably shorter, while Wisdom will let you fight at a safe distance. BONUS: Sora: Drive Gauge +1 Sora: Aerial Finish ability Donald: HP +4 Goofy: Teamwork limit Goofy: Auto Limit ability Jack: HP +15 Sora uses Jack's compass to open the path to the next two worlds. You'll also get the FOLLOW THE WIND Keyblade. Head next through the Ancient Highway Gummi stage to Agrabah. Port Royal, 2nd Visit Items: Feather Charm Ship Graveyard Map High Drive Recovery Meteor Staff King Recipe Orichalcum Mythril Crystal AP Boost Cursed Medallion Secret Ansem's Report 6 Enemies: Undead Pirate Gambler Lance Soldier Rapid Thruster Grim Reaper (Boss) Rabid Dog Magic: Magnera Summons: Peter Pan Bonuses: Summon Boost ability (Sora) Magnet Element (Sora) HP +4 (Donald) Flare Force ability (Donald) Draw ability (Goofy) HP +5 (Goofy) HP +10 (Jack) HP +15 (Jack) When the team lands, they see or hear something at the Port, so head down the steps. They find Jack, who's fighting a trio of Undead Pirates. Didn't we abate the curse? Fight them (use the cargo net to help if you wish), but Jack professes to have no hand in the Aztec gold dispersion. Elizabeth informs the team that Will has set sail to the Isla de Muerta to check on the gold himself. Head down the dock to the Black Pearl, and talk to Jack to sail to the Isla de Muerta. On the way there, you'll be ambushed by Undead Pirates and Lance Soldiers. No big worries. The real trouble starts when the Interceptor is spotted with an unconscious Will onboard. He doesn't have good news, and it seems the Organization once again has a hand in the events transpiring. Jack isn't too keen on encountering any monsters, and so he won't take the team to the Isla de Muerta. Save and head up to the deck. =========================================================================== Boss: Grim Reaper Okay, well... it seems our enemy is a bit weaker than a normal boss monster. You actually shouldn't need to put forth too much effort to win this battle. Think of it as a normal Undead Pirate with lots of HP. In other words, use a lot of magic. Its attacks are easily Guarded. Bonus: Sora: Summon Boost ability Donald: HP +4 Goofy: Draw ability Jack: HP +10 Not bad bonuses for such an easy fight! Well, Luxord has got other ideas in mind, and reactivates the curse. The Grim Reaper rises from the depths and blows the team onto the deck of the other ship, which is shipwrecked. Well, you're finally at the Ship Graveyard area that you haven't been allowed to explore yet, so now's the time. Next to the save point, open the chest for the FEATHER CHARM (15/21). The game's final summon lets you call Peter Pan to help you out. Exit the wrecked area. In this next area, fight the enemies and pick up the HIGH DRIVE RECOVERY, the KING RECIPE, and a MYTHRIL CRYSTAL (18/21). In the next area, the team encounters one of the Gambler Nobodies that has one of the medallions. You can beat these creatures by conventional means, or you can use the reaction commands to play games of chance. You can win a lot of munny this way, and damage the Gambler, but there's also a chance that Sora will get turned into a card or a dice. It's really up to you, and both ways don't carry much risk. Anyway, you'll get the CURSED MEDALLION back after the battle. Jack states that there are three more to go; he has keen pirate eyes. You'll also receive the SHIP GRAVEYARD MAP. The remaining Medallions are all in the hands of more Gamblers around this world. They appear randomly when you enter an area, and you have a limited amount of time to kill it before it disappears. Don't worry if it vanishes either, because you can always just try a different area. While we're sailing around, we might as well pick up the treasures we missed back at the Ship Graveyard. Seadrift Keep, the area you land in, has three chests: Donald's METEOR STAFF, an ORICHALCUM, and an AP BOOST (21/21). You'll probably encounter a Gambler here too. Whenever you collect all the medallions, the team will automatically return to the ship. Set up your team so that Donald is in your party, and head to the town when you're ready. =========================================================================== Boss: Grim Reaper (2) This time the Grim Reaper isn't so much of a pushover. In fact... it's quite a tough battle. Whenever the gold isn't in the chest, the Grim Reaper will use the curse to be at full power. Your main goal is to collect the gold that falls all around the area from hitting the creature with magic. If you have Donald in your party this should speed things up a bit. Blizzard magic works great to stun the creature, and Thunder will cause it to drop quite a bit of gold. A tip that I haven't tried, but sounds like it should work, is to use Magnet to pick up the gold. This should help a lot! Pay attention to the counters at the top of the screen. Your first priority is to drop the Grim Reaper's Medallion count to zero. Once you've done that, head over to the chest and dump all your medallions in. If the chest isn't full, look all around the area for the missing medallions. They can be tough to see sometimes! Once they are all back in the chest, the Grim Reaper will revert to the form that you had an easy time defeating before. At this point, attack with all you've got. After a certain amount of time, the creature will start sucking up gold right from the chest. Run in quickly and hit Triangle to use the Hinder reaction command (you may need to jump in to avoid the wisps circling the Reaper). Follow up with Loot Launch to make the Grim Reaper drop a considerable amount of gold. If you're taking a while or can't keep it stunned or frozen, the Grim Reaper will unleash some devastating attacks. In one of its cooler attacks, it turns into three huge skulls which stomp about the area. Not really easy to avoid, but not too difficult either. The range of the attacks increase dramatically, so if you're waiting for your MP to recharge, just run around as far away from the thing as possible. A quicker way of replenishing MP is to run in close and attack it while it's invincible (makes it drop MP orbs) but this is risky, and not recommended. Bonus: Sora: Magnet element Donald: Flare Force ability Goofy: HP +5 Jack: HP +15 =========================================================================== You'll get SECRET ANSEM'S REPORT 6 after the battle.

You just need to keep doing the musicals, and when you complete those, you usually need to find an update of your magic, increasing the strength of the magic to carry on the levels.
