Red is NOT a primary color of pigments. They used to think it was. But your color printer on your computer makes red by mixing magenta and yellow. You can do that with paint too.
I wish schoolteachers would stop teaching the old color theory. It's wrong. The true primaries have been known for over 50 years, but too many people want the old primaries taught because "the masters" used them.
