you have to turn key to position 2, there is a hole on the side of the casing the barrel slides into facing upwards. Press small Alan key into hole and press a button down and barrel should slide out.

Remove steering wheel 2. looking into the column under where the wheel was you will see a slot in line with the barrel, place a small bladed screwdriver into this slot to depress the relase button. If I recall correctly you need to be in ACC position to fo this 3. Once to release button is pressed, jiggle the barrel as you pull it out
