Try to draw good people by looking in "How To Draw....." books to get you started. You can also ask other people for criticizem. Observe other good drawings, then compare your drawing to that one. See what you can improve or do better on.

Are you drawing a still life?

Still life = looking at something and drawing it.

If so, then look at the figure you're drawing for at least 5 seconds. Example, if you are drawing a horse's back (where the saddle goes), notice the curve in the back, and copy exactly what you see onto your paper or whatever you are using to draw with.

Are you drawing from the blue?

Just randomly drawing something off the top of your head.

If you are drawing just randomly from the top of your head, imagine the figure you're drawing in your head. Example, if you are drawing a horse, think of a real horse in your mind, and copy what you see in your mind onto your paper.

**Good practice to try to draw the figure you are drawing just by looking at it and not looking at your piece of paper to get the shape of the figure.
