If your gas gauge isn't working then your gas gauge senging unit is probably bad. This is located in the fuel tank. Depending on the model it is a usually a one piece unit with the fuel pump. It is pretty rare that the gauge actually goess bad. I hope this helps you. Brad

These tools can be found in auto parts catalogs parts stores or store that sell tools to machinist's and tool and die makers. They are variously called telescoping gauges, bore gauges and yes , cylinder measuring instruments. They often come in sets ranging from .500 inch to 6 inches. You will also need a micrometer to use these gauges. A set of calipers is not recommended as it cannot reach deep enough into the cylinder to measure accurately.

The power or ground connections to the instrument cluster could be bad. Check the fuses, then the wiring to the dash to find a common problem for the heat, gauges and speedometer.
