I gave sora follow the wind, equipped negative combo, draw, gave him a draw ring, and took away all the combo pluses.(make sure you have explosion and take away guard break if you have it)

unequip all combo boosters and equip all negative combos. once you beat sephiroth you also get fenrir which ability is negative combo. if you have all negative combos, fenrir, and explosion (final move that has shining balls of light) then you'll only attack with explosion, your final move. by doing this you break pots in one hit.
