There are 3 types of mushroom heartless. The White Mushroom are friendly heartless that play a game with you. It's basically like a game of charades and to get the White Mushrooms to go away and leave you with gifts, you have to get 3 right. If you get one wrong they get angry and leave you with nothing.

Shiver - cast fire
Fan themselves - cast blizzard
Have a light over their head - cast thunder
Float - cast gravity
Spin - Aero
Lay on the ground - Cure
Stand motionless - Stop
Another type of mushroom is the Black Fungus. These are not friendly. They don't physically attack you but release a purple fog which does cause damage when you come in contact with it. To defeat them, hit them while they're black. When they're silver, they are impenetrable. The last type of mushroom heartless is the Rare Truffle. These are the blue and yellow mushrooms. These are friendly. They do not attack, but also play a game with you. You basically approach the mushroom and hit it. It will bounce into the air and the game is to keep it fro touching the ground for as long as you can. So hit it before it can fall.

What is the story for Kingdom Hearts 2?
Kingdom Hearts 2 is the sequel of Kingdom Hearts, in Kingdom Hearts 1, it was just about Heartless and killing Ansem for the final fight to end the Heartless' attacks for hearts. In Kingdom Hearts 2, it has Heartlesses and Nobodies, the empty shells of the bodies that the Heartless have the taken the heart from. The final fight in Kingdom Hearts 2 is Xemnas, ironically, the Nobody of Ansem, which is a Heartless. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora gets taller, so he gets new clothes, new Keyblades, new abilities and all sorts. But the overall way of playing and story is the same. Go to worlds of all sorts from Disney to kill Heartless and Nobodies to eventually meet Organisation XIII, the leader of the Nobodies and fight Xemnas, the leader.

I'm not sure but i would guess that sense the keyblade is basicaly the only thing that can kill nobodies and when someone becomes a heartless a nobody is created and everytime the keyblade kills a heartless a hearts is sent up to the kingdom of hearts. and the members of organization 13 need kingdom hearts to become whole. so the keyblade is used to shut the door to darkness and to OPEN the door to LIGHT.

The somebody (Original self) The Heartless (they are the darkness enveloping other's hearts) The Nobodies (misnomer, they are the body nd soul left over) KeybladeLord---- Let me answer this... So everybody has a bit of darkness in their hearts,right? Out of that darkness Heartless are made. Heartless walk around then kill people and the people turn into a heartless BUT the heart is gone so whats happened with the body? The shell starts to move in its own accord and they kill people and heartless then nobodies etc. Lesser nobodies(people with weak hearts) are just turned into nobodies like dusks but the Superior nobodies (like Organization XIII) can think talk and move even though they do not have hearts they want to have feeling therefore trying to make Kingdom Hearts to revive their hearts and make them true people again. At a place called Castle Oblivion, some of the Organization people died from Heartless, Nobodies, and more. One organization guy called Axel, had orders to kill one of the teamembers not under his will. He had to kill Zexion I think, the guy withgrey hair and a spellbook. It was Saix who forced Axel to kill Zexion.
