It would be possible if the water pump is either leaking coolant on the belt causing it to slip or if the water pump is binding causing the belt to slip Another answer: Someone I know got 2 opinions that his water pump was going out (leaking). Later, he was on the freeway at 65mph and lost steering. The engine stayed on. He was able to pull over, or the car pulled to the right (bad alignment a good thing?). The repair person said the water pump for 1996 Jeep Cherokee sport helps circulate the power steering fluid.
There is coolant on the ground occasionally. How will I know when the intake manifold gasket is leaking
well simply for any car you can tell by checking the oil or the oil cap. if you see white residue on the cap or on the dipstick you got water in the oil. if you also change the oil you can see water in it. that is simply the only ways you can know. good look with your alero
If your radiator is leaking then you will need to replace it. Additionally, if you find that your car is constantly running hot you will need a new radiator.
It is at the right rear tire on the rail or frame. WE know this because ours started leaking today and we had to find it. Hope this helps.
Leaking? Sounds like bearing "growl" Not keeping engine temp at acceptable level
Typically when it is leaking.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I had the DPFE sensor changed on my Ford Explorer . As far as I know it is used to control the amount the Exhaust Gas Recirculation ( EGR ) valve opens
the windstars are know for intake manifold leaking it could also be radiator or water pump you need to try to locate the leak or have it pressure tested to know for sure
turn off your water
If it is leaking water, it is bad.
Can't give an exact answer, don't know the car... but usually the front sensors are either in the front bumper, or right in front of the radiator.
I'm doing mine Saturday, will let you know after
You will know if you have a leaky water pump because it will be leaking coolant out of the water pump.
My truck is leaking from the water pump and i dont know where it is leaking from all i need is a diagrame to show me many different ways it can be leaking at so i can look at all the place..
There is a weep hole at the bottom just under the pulley where there will be a stain of coolant if it is leaking. Or unhook the belt and check the play of the shaft of the water pump.
If it is leaking antifreeze or water, or if it is making noise or binding when turned by hand.
