There should be a jack and rods under the rear seat. Look closely at the rods, one of them should fit the cranking mechanism to the upper right of your license plate. Turn it counter clockwise to lower it and clockwise to raise it.
You have to use the tire iron as a handle and the extensions as the tool to place above the license plate. There is a hole above the license plate int eh rear of the truck that you stick the loop part of the extensions into the hole and crank the tire iron to the right to lower the tire. The tire is held up by a cable and a tire holder at the end of the cable. Just lower it down and replace the tire. Be sure to check your spare tire pressure at least once a month. It sucks to have a flat spare.
This truck uses three different engines, all with slightly different starter mounting. All starter replacements are pretty similar though. Most importantly you must first disconnect the negative battery cable. Raise and support the vehicle. From under the vehicle remove the large and small power wires to the starter. Remove the starter mounting bolts Remove the starter. Reverse procedure for installation.
The Last production car with a carb. was the 1990 GM 307 cid used in mostly all GM wagons. The last production truck with a carb was the 1993 Isuzu pick up. The answers apply to vehicles built for the USA.
if its a v-6 remove the RF tire, remove the 4 10mm bolts on the inner fender shield and the clips that secure the rubber shield. this will give you enough clearance to remove the starter. remove the front splash shield and you can see the starter on the passenger side of the engine. remove the small wire, remove the large wire with a 12mm socket on a long enough extension to reach it from the bottom of the veh. The rest is acedemic, a couple of bolts and a little twisting of the starter it will come out right through the wheel well.
It would be best to consult the Factory Service Manual. Remove from the axle: tires, drive shaft, shock absorbers, parking brake cable and the soft brake hose. Remove the u-bolts and lower the axle.
I may be wrong but I know most pick ups hav a fuel pump/sending unit located on top of the fuel tank it is usually sold as a set I worked at an auto salvage and when people called the would ask for a fule pump and it would come with the sending unit. You have to drop the gas tank to get to it.
