Dimension can be achieved with the use of a cross-hatching technique. The idea behind cross-hatching is that the more lines are layered, the darker the area is, and so the more shadowed that place is. By darkening areas and leaving others lighter, you can create a gradient that shows the progression from highlight to shadow.
You must also consider what areas are light and what areas are dark. The value progression begins with highlight, but there is also a reflective light from surfaces behind or underneath an object.
3d looking drawing mainly, not to be mistaken with drawing of a 3d object.
A 3D drawing is a three dimensional drawing. There are a number of ways an artist can convey dimension in a drawing. Perspective is one of them. Shading and contouring are others.
-Google SketchUp is the best program I've seen for 3D drawing on the PC -As for hand drawing, Isometric drawings are the easiest to represent a 3D house :D
Look at each perspective.- Top, Bottom, Left, and Right to make the 2D Isometric Figure to 3D Orthogonal.
I don't think it's possible to make a drawing look like a photograph unless you're a very good artist

A 3D drawing is when you use shadows and a sense of depth to create space. making the drawing more convincing and ugly.just kidding more real i meant.
if drawing one simply take a red and blue crayon or marker after drawing the main picture in red take the blue crayon and outline the picture then take red cyan glasses aka 3d glasses and put them on and there is your own 3d picture made by you
they use tonal shading to help make the drawing look more 3D, plus they use this shading to contrast the bouncing of light on the sides of the figure.

that depends whether it is a drawing or real life egg. If it were a drawing then it would be 2D, but if you are talking about a real life egg then yes it is 3D

3d drawing is a whole load of bull

3d cards are blue and red because they somehow match together to make one picture and thy look 3d but its not its just an illusion that make that effect.
