how i made was i had an old regular vest that was orange. i thought the basic shape was the same so i decided to make it into one. what i did was unstich the entire thing. I then bought some classic army green cloth. O sewed the fabric on the pre-existeing orange cloth and put it all back together. There was some adjudtments that had to be made, though. For the collar, i got a thin piece of foam and wrapped it in the green fabric, and sewed it on the collar. For the front pockets, i made 6 individual boxes of fabric, supported by poster board that i put on the inside. I then sewed in 6 snaps so i can access them, but i had them facing upwards instead of downwards so nothing falls out. You should study the manga in order to get an idea of your personal measurements. Oh! i almost forgot about the red spiral on the back: i placed a very thin strip of the foam between two red circular pieces of fabric and sewed a spiral into it. The second shoulder piece that wraps around the collar i also made form a thin piece of fabric wrapped in the green fabric. I bought an 18in zipper and attached that.
Overall, go to a second had store and buy an old fleece vest that fits somewhat snuggly. wrapp it in green fabric and sew away. If you try to make it from scratch, it would be too hard.
