How do you make tattoo ink?

This is not a "how to" site. You should honestly consider getting professional work done or get an apprenticeship instead of permanently leaving a mark saying that you had no idea on someones body.

Tattoo ink isn't ink, its pigment mixed with a carrier solution. The pigment can be organic( usually mineral salts ) or tiny plastic beads, the solution can be water, witchhazel, all sorts of crap, i have seen ethel glycol (anti freeze) mixed into carrier. And don't knock the scratchers, i make plenty of cash fixing up there crap work ;).

You shouldn't. The only instance where I advocate the use of homemade ink is for black and gray tattoos, but even then…honest to God ink is not that expensive, and can be bought online by anyone. The problem with homemade ink is that there is an obvious question of sterility, and just overall quality, as the color will come out a bit dull black as opposed to true black as it should be no matter how well you mix your solution.

However, if you are going to go the homemade route…the easiest solution to make involves burning wood completely till it's a pile of black char. You then grind the char down to a fine powder, and then mix this with baby oil. It's a fairly common prison recipe, so the results will reflect same. You should go the extra mile and buy real ink though. Look on eBay.

I use food coloring and to make it thinker I use corn starch. Make it really fine like nothing left.
