To paint them use acriylic color set chalk ( pastels ). Sand down rough areas. To take the paint of u a spray bottle to spray over the Breyer called primmer o which turns it white let it sit for a day then u smash up the acrylic chalk to dust and us a paint brush and apply it to the coat start with light colors and build up to dark but between each coat u put a layer of then put a layer of mattted finsh and apply more color until u get the color u what and use paint to do eyes hoofs or markings for more directions go to YouTube and type in how to paint a model horse hope this helps. I am not a pro that works at breyer but i have heard from the pros. They say use accrylic paint. You can find it at hobby lobby or any hobby store. and affter painting the breyer still looks "dull" you can put clear nail polish to gloss it up. or if you made a mistake let the paint dry. [accrylic dries pretty qucik] and then re-paint it.
