go to Oreilly auto parts or other part store. Buy a Hanes manual specifically for that van and read the step by step instructions. For about $16 it will tell you how to fix anything on your van in simple and easy to read instructions.

Save the radio codes. Write them down if required. Disconnect the positive lead of the battery. Disconnect and mark or take a closeup picture of the leads on the back of the alternator. Loosen the alternator belt, note the belt routing, and draw a picture if needed. Slip belt off alternator pulley and remove mounting bolts on alternator. Lift alternator out of unit.

With great difficulty. Refer to a Haynes Repair Manual.

That is true but in my case I had a choice to remove it from the top which would require removing tons of cables, plates, braces etc. so I decided to remove it from the bottom passenger side, it's tough but it can be done if you loosen the engine cross member bolt on the passenger side and then you can squeeze the alternator out that way, I used a pry bar and an extra person to move the cross member down just enough to get the alternator out. Then just do the reverse to install it, takes about an hour to R&R, be sure to disconnect your battery cables before starting any work on it! And as for the Haynes manual, they are garbage, they are as bad as the Chilton's, they only give you a general idea, the factory service manual is the best and they can be had cheaply on EBay, but even they tell you to remove it from the top and doing it that way is way too much work, do it from below and you will save tons of labor time:)

First Off, Is it singel or Dual Overhead? Anyways, You Locate the alternator in the front drivers side of the Stealth/3000GT and you locate the mounting bolts. There is one bolt that will adjust the tension of the alternator which will loosen up the belt. You then use the right size wrench or socket which will be a metric size. Then you will easily be able to figure the rest out. Then for installation of new alternator just reverse the disembly rules... Remember to unhook the battery for your safety because it hurts really bad to get shocked....
