Take off the negative battery cable then the wires on the alt then the bolts that hold it on. First take off the serpentine belt. There should be a schematic of how to reinstall it on the fan shroud. if it is not there you can draw your own before you take it off. Don't rely on memory.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Loosen the anchor bolts on the alternator. Use a belt tension release tool (or a ratchet will work) to release the serpentine belt. Turn clockwise to release tension. Pull the belt off of the alternator. Disconnect the plug wire from the alternator. The release tab is on the back. Disconnect the ground. Remove the anchor bolts and pry the alternator out with a screw driver. Install the new alternator and go in reverse order. Connect the negative battery cable last. FYI it may help to use a standard screw driver to remove the air filter from the front of the motor and push aside. This will make it easier to access the belt tension pulley underneath.

disconnect negative cable on battery first. if your working on a 2.2 L, raise the front of vehicle and support it securely with jack stands. remove splash shield from under the engine compartment. remove the drive belt, disconnect the output wire from alternator, remove the mounting bolts and remove alt, many new or rebuilt alt, do not have a pulley installed. on models with a theift audio system, make sure it is turned off before disconnecting battery.

the alternator is found on the left side toward the front you remove the three bolts holding it in place with a socket don't use a wrench itll just slip and youll just hit your hand on the head remove all belts from the alternator and carefully remove the alternator to make sure as to not damage any of the belts as it is removed then slide the new alternator in place and put the belts on you then can hook up all wiring and bolt it into place you've just replaced your alternator and this was written by a fourteen year old who loves cars

There is a pulley directly underneath your alternator that has a nut on the back of it. You'll need a wrench to put on it and push down to get slack on the belt. After removing the belt there are three bolts (two in the front and one on the back) that need to be removed. Then disconnect the wire harness and you may need something to pry the alternator out of the bracket and that's it.

disconnect the battery first

take a wrench to your tension pully so that you can release your belt. for safety you can detach your positive wire from battery. there are two wire plugs to take out of the alternator. then just take out the two bolts and just reverse process to put new one in,
