I would need more information on what exactly you mean but if you mean about hanging pencil pleat curtains with string in the heading tape then what you do is get the three strings at one end of the curtain tape and tie a knot in them, do the same at the other end (therefore when you pull them the string wont come out!) Then pull one end of strings to your desired gather. If you have pulled out the strings by mistake because you haven't tied a knot first, then just take a large wool needle and thread the string back through the holes it came out of which should still be visable...then tie a knot, tying the three together once threaded through!
Yes, as in to sew material or buttons.
How long is a piece of string? As long as you make it.Can kids sew? If you teach them to, yes.
no
do you mean Hama Beads? It would depend on if you were attempting to sew them as single beads or as fused multibead creations. The short answer is-- anything that has a hole in it can be sewn to fabric. as long as it's weight can be supported by the material you are using to 'sew' it with and the fabric you are sewing it to... you could sew up through fabric string the bead on your sewing material (thread or what have you), and then sew down through the fabric. You may need to make several stitches through heavier beads to secure them. You can also sew up through the hole in whatever item you are using and sew through a smaller bead and then back down through the larger hole (similarly to sewing on a sequin). If you are attempting to sew fused items, sew through multiple holes in the item to secure it flat to the fabric. It is often easiest to sew beads to fabric if it is under tension-- using either a hoop or a scroll frame is really handy, or you can staple it to a frame (which will support a lot more weight if you are doing a very heavy beading project).
The optimum height for a curtain rod is 2 to 3 inches above the frame.
There are three main types of curtain pole rings available for hanging curtains: clip rings, eyelet rings, and sew-on rings. Clip rings have a clip mechanism to attach to the curtain fabric, eyelet rings have a hole for the curtain pole to go through, and sew-on rings are stitched directly onto the curtain fabric.
You should sew a straight cutain hem very slowly. Be sure to practice sewing straight lines on a similar fabric before you start your hem. You may want to use a blind hem, which hides almost all of the thread from view.
