It depends on what's causing it? and how did you injure it? If it's a sprain then ice, advil and resting it should help. If you have torn a ligament then this won't help and you may need an MRI and surgery. If it's carpal tunnel syndrome then you will need to find out what caused it...repetitive use or some other reason? I would suggest you see an orthopedist if after 4 wks you are still having symptoms.
