How do you unlock ghost on Mario Kart Wii?

To unlock a ghost you have to go to one player mode. Then you go to time trials mode. Their are 32 courses in the game so that means that there is 32 time trials. When you click on a course in Time Trials mode then their will be a couple of options. I think one is to play alone and another is to play on the course against a ghost. It will tell you how many seconds you have to complete the course before the ghost. So you begin the race against the ghost and you have to beat the ghost and cross the finish line before the ghost. Then if the ghost passed the finish line after you by the number of seconds it says then you will unlock the expert staff ghost which is a harder ghost.
