This is the simple and short explanation of normal CIRCULATION OF BLOOD, the Superior Vena Cava and Inferior Vena Cava carry the deoxygenated blood to the Right Atrium which flows to the Right Ventricle going to Pulmonary Artery then Lungs, then the Pulmonary Vein carries oxygenated blood from the Lungs to the Left Atrium, then the Left Ventricle receives oxygenated blood from the Left Atrium going to Aorta which distributes oxygenated blood to all parts of the body throught the systemic circulation. I can show you a simple diagram that is easy to remember:

Is audible s3 heart sounds normal?

Such questions will continue to come from senior doctors. When you listen some abnormal heart sounds, you should go for ecocardiogram of the patient. With Doppler study, you will get complete information of the defects and blood flow of the heart. You have to listen heart sounds very routinely to know the 'normal' heart sounds. There is no short cut for the same.

What is abnormal heart sound caused by improper closure of the heart?

murmurmurmurA murmur is a heart sound caused by turbulent blood flow resulting from an abnormal heart valve that either does not close appropriately or does not open normally.

Normal blood pressure of 7 months old baby with congenital heart disease?

What is the medical term meaning abnormal heart sound produced by turbulent blood flow in the heart?

If you're asking "Are abnormal heart sounds caused by valvular disease?," the answer is "sometimes." If you're asking "What are the abnormal heart sounds caused by valvular disease?," the answer is "it varies with the type and degree of disease." One of the most common abnormal heart sounds caused by valvular disease is a whooshing or swishing sound instead of the sharp thumping beat of a valve that's functioning properly.

Why is the heart actually stopped when the defibrillator pads are applied?

Defibrillation depolarizes all of the heart tissue at once. This usually will terminate abnormal heart rhythms with the hope that a normal one will take over.

What are you hearing when you hear the heart beat?

Turbulence. Be it normal or abnormal, the "sound of blood" is always turbulence. This includes what you hear when you take a blood pressure ... which is a major source of error IF blood flow is abnormal (as in shock).

What is abnormal ecg?

An abnormal ECG may indicate some heart problems. It may be an indication of changes in the heart, congenital heart defect, changes in amount of potassium in the blood, heart attack or poor blood supply to the arteries.

What is bigeminy?

Bigeminy is an abnormal heart rhythm where every other beat is abnormal. This can be an abnormal atrial beat (atrial bigeminy), a beat arising from the AV junction or bundle of His (junctional bigeminy), or a ventricular beat (ventricular bigeminy). The pattern is as such: Normal beat... abnormal beat... normal beat.... abnormal beat... normal beat... abnormal beat... repeat.

In relation to the normal heart sounds when would you expect to hear the abnormal sounds?

Abnormal sounds may be heard before, after, or during the normal heart sounds. For instance, sounds associated with stenosis may be heard before the closing of that valve.

What is physiological values?

Normal physiological values reference between what is normal and abnormal parameters. Some of these values referenced are blood volume, cardiac output, resting heart rate, pH, core body temperature and fasting plasma glucose.

What characteristics does a normal transesophageal echocardiography have?
