Heart have a special poind in its right auricle knonw as SA node or sinoauricular node whcih have capability to generate electric impulse and these impulses travell from SA node to AV node and from there to the whole heart by the help of fibers known as bundle of Hiss, which make hurt contract and proceed in pumping action.

Why couldn't your heart only have cardiac tissue?

Cardiac muscle, like other muscles, can contract, but it can also carry an action potential (i.e. conduct electricity), like the neurons that constitute nerves. Furthermore, some of the cells have the ability to generate an action potential, known as cardiac muscle automaticity. (Some cells can make the heart beat on its own.) This doesn't occur in any other type of muscle tissue. This ability can keep the heart pumping even under disease conditions.

How will a person that smokes heart rate differ from that of a non smoking person?

Well smokers heart beats faster but their heart rate is lower...On the other hand nonsmokers heart beats faster but it depends if their resting heart rate is higher....maybe they do drugs or they have other symptoms that is not good for their heart...even some medicine's are bad for you're heart.

Can the heart contain smooth muscle?

No, they are not. Cardiac muscle is a type of involuntary striated muscle found only in the walls of the heart. This is a specialized muscle that, while similar in some fundamental ways to smooth muscle and skeletal muscle, has a unique structure and with an ability not possessed by muscle tissue elsewhere in the body. Cardiac muscle, like other muscles, can contract, but some of the cells have the ability to generate an action potential, known as cardiac muscle automaticity. Meaning that some of the cells can beat on their own without any nerve stimulation.

What does the muscle tissue do to make the heart pump?

The muscle tissue on one side contracts while the other relaxes, controlled by electrical impulses to the heart muscle.

Why is heart disease not contagious?

Contagious diseases are caused by Viruses, Bacteria and Germs. Heart disease is caused by a degenerative condition caused by age or environmental conditions in the body.

How does the heart's ability to contract differ from that of other muscles?

Because the heart isn't used to move something, such as your arm or leg. The build up of a skeletal muscle is longer and thinner, in places. The heart has two hollow chambers, the left and right. The heart beats, other muscles don't.

How do cardio-respiratory fitness and endurance differ from each other?

Cardiorespiratory endurance is the ability of the cardiorespiratory system to supply nutrients and oxygen to the body during sustained physical activity without fatigue. Endurance is a factor used to measure physical fitness. Cardiorespiratory fitness is the ability of the heart and lungs to function efficiently and effectively.

What assists in the movement of blood throgh the veins other than the beat of the heart?
