- I am personally uncertain of the actual answer to the question. Nevertheless, I know that a single-engine prop plane can take off at 60mph. Yet this question does not have an absolute answer as a jumbo jet iscapable of taking off at a mere 180mph It depends on physical variables such as size and weight of the craft. Logically, it takes more force to push a taller or heavier person off a cliff than it does a smaller or lighter person. The rate of speed required to take off is not universal.
