How is a tattoo created?

A tattoo is formed using lots and lots of small needles. They punch little holes in the skin and dye/ink is injected into them. They will then scab over and after it heals it will be the finished tattoo. They can be quite painful to get.

First you pick where, how big, what kind, color/ brack and grey, and all the designing part yourself. If you go to a shop, it is likely they have books or previous work that you can look at to get an idea. Your artist should go over exactly what you want at that point.

The actual tattooing process varies for the artist. Are they doing it free hand? Or are they copying it to your body, and tracing it? (Much like a carbon copy). The artist then, hooks up the needle (which he may bend fist) and the tube to the gun he is using. He should open both the needle and tube in front of you to prove to you everything is sterilized. If the packaging does not have a green (or sometimes blue) dot indicating the materials were previously sterilized, it is not safe. He will then hook up the machine to the power supply, and might need to tune his gun first. Then the tattooing begins. Like I said, all artists vary on how they tattoo. The needle they will be using can range over a TON of different types, nine liner, magmum, etc. Traditionally, he will start with the outline of your tattoo, and maybe shade and color in another session, depending on how big it is, etc. He will do a line or two, and then wipe off the access ink with a paper towl and Green Soap (typically). Green Soap is pretty much just a clensing soap.

No matter what anyone says, tattoos are always uncomfortable. Any man that tries to tell you "Nahh man, it doesn't hurt at all" is lying. But don't take any pain medication or muscle relaxers before getting tattooed, it only hurts worse.
